  • Wallpaper stripper

I had been stripping wallpaper from my powder/ bathroom walls on the first floor last week. It was hard work. I got this kit with a video with it on how to strip the wall paper easily with their product. YEAH Right... It wasn't so easy. It took me two days to get every last bit off the walls. So much scraping, I hurt my back trying to reach all the high corners.  I am in the process of filling all the scraped holes in the drywall. LOL Anyways. That is my project for this week to fill holes, sand paper and prime to get it ready to paint. I'll be getting paint this weekend and am still not sure what theme and color yet. Any ideas?

We had my Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law with their dog Bella came visiting last Saturday. I love that Bella she is fun but I am glad I do not have a dog. So much work. Memow hated that dog and we had to put him in the basement. He was bent out of shape when we let him out int he evening when they left. LOL But my in-laws were glad they could come visit and not worry about their pup at home. :) I would like to see them more often too. My brother-in-law Allen is a riot. They are still young in their 20's so even though we have an age gap, we still have so much fun with them and the kids. We went out to eat and then walked the mall. My boys adore him. I hope they would get a little closer to their relatives. We rarely see family so it would be great if they came more often. I love visits.

I got my flu shot yesterday and now have a sore arm. So My stripper days are over but I refuse to sand with this arm. I am taking the day off from my project. The shot wasn't as bad as last year though since they have a smaller needle this year. Also when I went in to see the Doctor the nurse said I was mildly feverish. I was wondering why I had a sluggish feeling all yesterday morning.

I am feeling worse this morning but it didn't stop me from doing what I need to today. Kids need to be got up,Breakfast made, lunch packed, and sent off to school. Laundry need to get done. Raisin Bran Muffins needed baking. Memows must have their breakfast or else they would purr in my ear all morning while trying to bite my toes under my blanket. HAHA! I am not taking anything for fever since they said the best thing to do is to just let it burn off the virus my body is fighting.

Well I am headed back under the blankets on the couch.

Hope you all have a good week.

Oh and Any good ideas for a small power room bathroom??

  • Life gone to the Cats...

I am two cats away from becoming a cat lady.laughing

I love all things cat related now since I have one. Ha!

Memow eating out of his dish.

He is very feisty if I do not feed him on time. I saw this video and it reminded me of him just before I feed him in the morning.

Thought it was really cute. Enjoy!

  • Renaissance

Renaissance Festival in Crownsville Maryland is becoming a tradition. Last year was the first time taking our boys, so now they want to go every year. We had a narrow window of time to go this past Sunday and we went.

Here we are at the entrance. It was a rainy day but it was fine.

A thing I like about R-fair is all the live shows. We watched this one, The Dueling Fools, and they were hilarious with all their quips and jokes along with sword duels.

Turkey legs are one of my kids favorite foods while visiting but we ate a packed lunch too because couldn't afford too much.

Games like axe throwing, huge wooden pinball (above), and Star throwing like Leif was doing here in the picture below.

They have a lot of nice shops but before we went we told the boys we can't afford to buy things other than a few games and snacks. Aaron saw a nice metal Hylian shield from the video game Zelda that cost $75. In this picture above he is having a pity party because Momma and Daddy said "NO!" to the most desired item of the whole fair.

He soon got over it and he bought a chance to make a hand of wax.

Here this cute girl in the fairy outfit helped him out with his wax hand project. She dipped his hand in warm liquid white wax over and over.

And here she is dipping the finished hand in black wax to color it. She was so nice to him and helped him from start to finish. He had this look in his eyes too. LOL

I like this picture of Aaron recording the sword swallower. He did this the whole day with his new phone.

I had my oldest take a picture of hubby and I. It turned out pretty good.

We had a really good day too.

  • The long not so boring day

this is ending up to be a dear diary blog lol

Anyway We were scheduled to meet up with a long lost cousin of mine from my fathers side today but she had to change the date. :( I was looking forward to a visit. She was adopted by a mennonite family in PA. So we went to the mall instead and got a few things for the boys. I decided to look at what was on sale and try on some blouses. I am 3 sizes smaller than a year ago! I felt really good! So i bought a pretty one I liked. I am planning to wear it to RenFair tomorrow.

We promised to take the boys once this year and tomorrow is the only day we got. :) It will be fun since we all like it so much.

We bought a toy rat last night for memow and after putting our shopping away Memow got really nuts about the silly toy. Aaron kept taking it and throwing it. This made kitty mad so he growled at him once he got the rat and ran down stairs. lolAfter awhile kitty brought it to me to throw. I had thrown it and I turned quickly when kitty ran into my big toe nail as i stepped down.  I cut his eye a bit. I think I might have to take him to a vet sooner than later. He is ok but i felt bad.

I am reading the George R.R. Martin series of Game of Thrones. I am on the third book, bought today, because it is so good. I usually do not read long thick adult books but this has my attention. I sometimes have to read sections twice because of my dyslexia but over all my reading struggle it is worth it.

It is a good set up for tomorrows Renaissance  festival.

    Tomorrow should be fun.

  • Cat house

Ok here it is..the cardboard cat play house. Not a huge beauty but it is cheaper than $1! :) That is the materials out of pocket or the packaging tape which I only used a half roll.

I am not sure how to make it prettier but it is fun that is for sure.

  • Last rose of the season

    From my front garden...

When roses are dying off they get all these speckles. It think it is really pretty even with the edges browning.

If I wrote poetry this would give me inspiration. :)

  • More or less rants and brain dead news...

I have some bottled up rants but it seems to be just a useless thing to rant on Facebook. So  I'll spew here where it is safer. Facebook is scary!

My life is utterly boring? Yeah well but it is all my fault, kind of. I should get a job but I can't. (no legal I.D.) I should do some kind of craft or art work but I am so unimaginative and unmotivated. I play with my cat and do house work all day...BORING!

I have been getting up early to send my boys off to school. I get most of my house work done by 11pm. SO instead of doing something creative I have been Playing Sims 3. I also watch some talk shows. I laughed at one of this newly wed woman complaining that her husband is addicted to video games. I am kind of myself addicted so there is no way I could complain when my husband comes home to play all evening. He needs "down time" too.

It annoys me when Women do not get men. "WAH I want him to pay more attention to me and be more romantic!" HA! The place not to say this is on a talk show, FYI. You have to give the man credit for going to a talk show in the first place! Sorry Gals it doesn't just happen after you get married it takes a little work. Why marriage success is more 1% Luck and 99% work. If you sit back and wait it may never come. LOL This gal could have just told him herself that she needs to have some more time together. Why go on National TV and tell the world you are so boring your husband rather play video games? Right? LOL.

I am mean HUH? Hate all he complainers. OH talking of complainers some people on FB who constantly complain about the President too. OH really? Like you think if you got someone else you would have one less problem? Sheesh I think there would have been a ton more. It is this short sightedness that irks me. I can't vote this season but I am not too worried my vote will tip the balance. Delaware is a democratic strong state. We (DE) have our reasons. Banks are all over here and the downward spiral started in 2005 not 2008. It was the policies in place that caused so many problems. Most Upper State people who work in this bank industry see what is going on. Sadly the Southern half is full of rednecks who cling to guns and their misunderstood bible. Really How do you cling to the Cross and a rifle? That is where you get her loveliness Ms.Tea-party O'Donnell. OH get the pot boiling I plan to brew some rant...LOL

I recently befriended a lady on Facebook who was my mothers friend and she is a big Teaparty patriot. I don't think Teaparty means patriot. it is more like tea party mad hatters. Oh man is her thinking backwards. I won't get into it but this is what I wanted to say. "How do you think your business got so bad? Well it is called trickle down economics hon! It took awhile for you'll to figure out we all were in trouble HUH? Well Shoot we Democrats knew in 2005! Mhmm..when all the middle class jobs GOT SHIPPED OUT. What do you think could happen if another Re-bub-lican tool should take office?" I planned to not talk about politics too much but I just couldn't help it.

Ok Rant over...I am glad or one thing. In the political season my In-laws and I get along. My Mother-in-law has been emailing, calling, and texting me every so often. She has been happy with me since I lost weight. Shallow I know but she was really worried about my weight. I was too but she never gave me credit or the weight I lost by myself over the years. It was only after the big operation she seemed to be pleased with me.

I don't even want to talk about all the Scott Brown tomahawk chops that went on towards Elizabeth Warren. SHEESH! It only explains Why 99% of Native American Indian vote more liberal. Racism runs rampant in the other parties.

Ok I'm done. AND No Big Blast off comments please, especially if you are a hater.

  • not much... just a bit of nonsense

BUT nonsense is what I like.

I made a cat ranch house out of boxes today for Memow. I saw they had boxes linked together for sale at Petco so I thought i would save money and make one. I get some great boxes from costco when we haul groceries. I am not done since I need a tower but soon I think it will be after another visit to Costco. So far it is pretty cool. I linked two boxes together by cutting a linking hole between the two. Memow liked it a lot but he is sleeping now so I will have to see if this works this evening. I was hoping he would stop jumping out from under the couch at my feet. We shall see.

I made Cauliflower crust pizza last night and it turned out really yummy. It is nice to eat it with some Garlic bread since it is bread-less. Recipe in short is; rice Cauliflower, cooking slightly then mix it with beaten egg and shredded cheese. Flatten out in a pan then bake it like a pizza crust. Let it cool and add pizza toppings, bake again and MMM Healthy yummy

My Kids have my cold and are home today. I could tell my oldest was sick he didn't want to eat. ;0)  We watched Puss n Boots together yesterday evening and had to listen to the coughing all through the film. I hate when they are sick, Poor boys. But Aaron is better today and should go back to school tomorrow even though he says he is sure he is not. Oh BOYS!

yeah a whole lot of not much here...Just nonsense. couldn't be happier!
