It's done...
now lets move forward. Working together is a thing that makes our country great!
I am thankful for what we have, each other and for the diversity which is our nations people. We can learn so much from each other.
The Boo-Hooing and evil posts I have read get me sad. To read that people lose hope in America when their person doesn't get elected is testament to their faith in God. Do you have faith or not, that God is in control?
I read some UGLY posts! Racist and culturally insensitive rants and about those who voted for our now president being idiots, arrogant and stupid. WOW you can't win as a minority. If you're smart and educated you are uppity and elitist and if you are less than well educated and poor, you're a an ignorant person who doesn't deserve a vote. (Though they don't say "Person.")
I think if you call it out like that, that is truly what you are, an Uppity, ignorant, and poor in spirit loser. And if that is you, I am praying or you today.
Bible verses being thrown and taunts. WOW I am ashamed all over again to call myself Christian.
WWJD??? I think He said it best enough to read for yourself.
Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Gods will gets done according to what I was taught. Is our faith in a elected leader or what people are on earth? NO! I was taught to believe in a benevolent God who loves the outcast and the Lost.
Like Gandhi said. I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. Gandhi would have been christian had it not been for the white church to turn him out and be racist against him. WOW a loss for the christian faith but a gain to the world, smacks of God to me. Another reason I believe Romney lost. Racism in his professed faith that was so ungodly I was shocked Christians would vote for such a man.
But God can use anyone and anything I was taught to believe so why are peoples faith so shallow to not see that God is in control all the time. I believe firmly that God is in a win for the non-white cultures of America by having Barack Obama elected a second term. God has seen the unfair tactics and cruel rejection. It is time to embrace our brothers or all races not just the ones you grew up with as a child or in your self-sheltered environment.
Love this hopeful message from our elected president..."I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting."
That is God too. He never gives up on us. God plants hope and new life in our hearts through our Faith in Him.
Romans 12:9-16 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c]Do not be conceited.
Romans 13:1-7
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Ok Off my soap box. Thanks
I just find the Bible to be my comforting source of great words as well as those people GOD puts in my life to teach guide and admonish me.

I hear you.
If Obama won because he was black, why did I, a WHITE WOMAN vote for him? And some of the ugly is awful. I SUFFERED through 8 years of Bush 2...but there is not a single blog ANYWHERE that says how much I loathed him, or his policies.
SO...they can adjust, the same way i did.

You are unusual in your long "soap box" today but I like it.
I am not Christian, but I do actually love to crack open the Bible from time to time. Your post was brilliant. The lack of respect we show for each other and for our president these days ... it's revolting. The name calling that we consider politics? Utter nonsense.
Very impressive essay. You're getting better at this. I like the references to Gandhi.
Yes, let's move forward now.
A good post
.
Wow, you really said it. This is the first time, well I know you had the guts in you, but I see a post on politics and you said it girl. Way to go...
Wow what a grand post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neat post Judith. I think it's a case of sour grapes, me thinks, when people call other educated and informed people ignorant and uninformed! To each his own I guess.
@angys_coco - I usually get my guts after elections.
@ZSA_MD - I agree so many are still belly aching on Facebook. Why is being gracious a bad thing?
@SisterMae - Thank you for the REC,
@slmret - @vexations - Thank you!
@manic_lizard - WOW Thanks!
@RestlessButterfly - I agree
Everything is going to be fine HUH?
@gottobereal64 - Thanks friend!
@vexations - :) Thank you
@galadrial - Girl, we could talk about those horrible Bush years!
So glad we are progressing forward this time.
Excellently said and you are so right. It is time to work together to improve life for all.
I'm guessing you are talking about Xanga posts and if you are, I haven't seen any of the posts you are talking about. However, I've seen some pretty nasty things said on Twitter and different articles I've read online.
But I agree it is time we work together and move forward.
@Shining_Garnet - All kinds of places, here on Xanga, Facebook, and twitter. Yes We need to move forward and pray for the best.
@Grannys_Place - hope today the backlash has died down. I think I heard now they can really get some work done in Washington.
YAY!
anyone who resorts to name calling and offering no solutions is doing the wrong thing. that being said, memories are short, i recall years of bush/repub bashing--it was heartless, but i digress. i think people need to start making the world a better place by looking to their own families first.--karen
@lifeontheWink - speaking ones mind about the political situation is not a problem with me. It is the outright disrespect and racism I have trouble with that people are saying. But I agree about the past. I even defended Bush and hated the racial bashing of him. Yeah there was some, but not like our current POTUS. I try to see all sides.
