  • Idle No MORE!

Raining but a good morning. Hello world we are still here! YAHOOO! A good day to be Anishinaabe too!
Glad for a whole day with my little family who are all home. Love these rainy days with nothing to do but stay home and relax. Think I'll make some cookies. But first I plan to pray at 2:00 pm with my boys for the Idle No More protest online, light some candles for the Sandy hook children, and say prayers for all my family and friends too.
Join us with a few prayers too at that time.

One Heartbeat Across Turtle Island December 21<<<<link to Facebook

The Idle No More has called on all Nations to drum and sing across
Turtle Island on December 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Central Standard time, for a global synchronized Spiritual
    Awakening.

This day is significant since it is the winter solstice and is a re-aligning of energy from
our Ancestors. We want to honor and recognize the Drum as it represents the heartbeat of
Mother Earth and the heartbeat of our people.

Indigenous peoples call on all people and nations to
join us in solidarity in “One Heartbeat” through the Drum as we honor the ways of
    our Ancestors.

This event will honor the ways of our Ancestors as we call on them to help us bring
attention to the injustice Indigenous peoples, land and waters are encountering through
the unilateral imposition of legislative policies that blatantly disregard our Natural Laws
    and the sacred Treaty relationship.

    More about the protests

Here is a few  links explaining the reason for protests.

    From Indian Country Today

Idle No more : Indigenous Brothers and Sisters take the Initiative for a better tomorrow.

    An Expert:

"Idle No More calls on all people to join in a revolution which honors and fulfills Indigenous sovereignty and protects the land and water. All people will be affected by the continued damage to the land and water and we welcome Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies to join in creating healthy sustainable communities. We encourage youth to become engaged in this movement as you are the leaders of our future. There have always been individuals and groups who have been working towards these goals—Idle No More seeks to create grassroots solidarity. We encourage people to organize community gatherings, share knowledge and support, and stay strong and united in spirit as we move forward together."

The Revolution will not be Televised.

An excerpt from the article.  "This government is attempting to systematically sell off our resources and make even more resources available for exploitation. It’s a short term game plan and one that this current government doesn’t even hope to survive. But by the time the next election rolls around it will be too late to stop all the destruction. Sure, the Conservatives will be voted out (unless Canadians go back to sleep again), but their friends will already be enriched, their ideology will have been advanced and they will likely have future seats on corporate boards and their MP pensions."

    ...

My Biggest concern is just that, the land. Our reservations while they were a curse are a blessing to the earth. Due to treaties with the First Nations People the governments could not touch the land. We know that and more realize it all now. BUT once again, they, the government, are trying to cancel those agreements because of greed. Please say a prayer to keep our solidarity.

Here is a map for your time zone.

    Mine is 2:00

Even If you have NO Native American Indian Blood in you this protest concerns the Planet you live on. Please join in as a single prayer to change the hearts and mind of those who can make a difference.

Maybe this is the end of the world as WE know it and finally something can be done about the future of all of the people of earth.
